You've probably seen this thing over there in the right hand sidebar as the Featured Product. It's for good reason. I have one of these things and it really rocks. For me the best use is that it opens plastic sports drink bottles like Gartorade and Propel. I've used handheld bottle openers to open these for a long time. The Lids Off opener handles these brilliantly. It's fast and easy. The Lids Off opener by Black & Decker comes in two models. One, the featured product, includes a conventional motorized can opener on the front. This is excellent for kitchens where counter space is at a premium. This allows you to replace your conventional can opener with the combined jar/bottle/can opener. Excellent! The other model features just the bottle/jar opening functionality.
I don't do a lot of cooking and this thing is still my favorite kitchen gadget. When I am heading out for the day with a couple of 20 oz. bottles of Gastorade I take time to use the Lids Off to break the seals on the bottles and then crank the lids hand tight so they don't leak in my bag. This saves my hands when I am away from home.
The Lids Off Automatic Jar Opener comes in white, black and black with stainless accents. Nice.
Update: It's been reported in the comments that some 20 oz. soda and water bottles are too tall for the Lids Off. While this is true. I still recommend this great tool. You'll probably want to keep a few OXO Good Grips Jar Opener on hand.

This machine does not open 20 oz. bottles! They don't fit. I purchased this thing for the purpose of opening 20 oz bottles and was very disappointed. Obviously the person who wrote the review has never used this product.

Check out Jaromatic. It opens the tall bottles, and the small ones too. www.jaromatic.com
